Partner Code 128979 for AvaTrade: What It Really Does

Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Always the same thing: can you get free trades or lower spreads?

No. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code doesn't touch it.

Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Simple as that.

How much do you get?

Deposit $1,000 and get $200.

Put in $2,000, get $400.

$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Not many traders reach that level.

British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Goes to £11,200 at the top.

Minimum to open an account is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.

The code field isn't obvious

When you're signing up. Below the phone field, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. The field expands. Type **128979**.

Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.

If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Message your account manager before you deposit. Request partner code 128979 be added. Standard practice for them.

Bonus withdrawal conditions

There's a volume requirement.

Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your deposit is yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.

Worth mentioning: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
